Riyadh hosted on Sunday a high-level coordination meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution.
Chaired by Saudi Arabia, Norway and the European Union, the meeting tackled efforts to support the Palestinian cause and delivery of humanitarian aid.
Officials also tackled the implementation of the New York Declaration and US President Donald Trump’s peace plan on Gaza.
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah had launched the global alliance on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in September 2024.
At the time, he said that the two-state solution was the best way to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, which would in turn lead to peace and stability in the region, including for Israel.
In July, Saudi Arabia and France co-chaired a UN high-level conference on the two-state solution in New York.
The conference called on Israel to seize the opportunity for peace, declare its full commitment to the two-state solution and end the war on Gaza. It urged it to end incitement against Palestinians, and stop its settlement expansion and Israeli settler violence against Palestinians.
In September, the General Assembly endorsed the New York Declaration on the two-state solution with 142 countries voting in favor of a resolution backing the document.
