Saudi Arabia hailed on Saturday the liberation of the Syrian city of Raqqa from the ISIS terrorist organization, hoping that it will be followed up with serious steps to liberate Syria, Iraq and the region from terrorism.
A source from the Saudi Interior Ministry said that the Raqqa liberation was an important step in counter-terrorism.
The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Conference hailed the achievement in Raqqa, hoping that efforts will be exerted in all levels to combat terrorism that has become a threat to international peace and security.
It reiterated its condemnation of terrorism in all of its forms, stressing the need to dry up its financing.
It also called for resolving the Syrian crisis through peaceful means and in accordance to the Geneva 1 agreement and international resolutions that underline the unity of Syrian territory.
