The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization has “strongly condemned” the missile attack carried out by Houthi insurgents on the Saudi capital Riyadh.
ALECSO said in a terse statement issued from its headquarters in Tunis that following “this unprecedented and highly dangerous escalation,” the organization “strongly condemns this aggression against the Kingdom and its vital interests.”
ALECSO stressed its “absolute rejection of Iranian interference and any attempt to stoke tension in the region.”
The statement also expressed ALECSO’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, which is a founding member of the organization.
Earlier this month, Saudi forces intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile near Riyadh international airport, after it was fired from Yemen by Houthi insurgents.
