Saudi Crown Prince Grants Charities 12 Million Riyals

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, granted 12 million riyals from his personal account to charities in the southern region, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on Sunday.

It said that this initiative is part of efforts to support charity organizations that are part of a program he launched to back such organizations throughout the Kingdom.

The latest grant covers the regions of Asir, al-Baha, Jazan and Najran and ten organizations operating there, said SPA.

Some 10,166 beneficiaries are located in these regions.

The grant will be distributed to support orphans (67 percent), needy families (15 percent), widows and divorced women (7 percent), healthcare (4 percent), special needs patients (3 percent), newlyweds (3 percent) and cancer patients (1 percent).

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud sent on Tuesday a cable of congratulations to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on his country's National Day.

King Salman wished Sisi continued good health and the government and people of Egypt steady progress and prosperity.

He lauded the strong Saudi-Egyptian ties, emphasizing the shared desire to foster growth in all sectors.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, sent Sisi a similar cable on the occasion.
