Kuwait announced on Saturday the delivery of all invitations to the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council to attend the 38th Gulf Summit, which will be held this Tuesday and Wednesday.

On Friday, Kuwait sent official invitations to Qatar and Oman to attend the summit, amid tension resulting from the Gulf dispute with Qatar, which is accused of supporting terrorism and contributing to the spread of chaos in the region.

However, there has been no announcement in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, indicating that leaders of these countries have received an invitation to attend the Kuwait summit or that they have agreed to attend the Summit with Qatari Emir before resolving the crisis between their countries and Doha.

Last week, Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al Sabah paid a visit to Riyadh, where he delivered a message to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques from the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah.

This came two days after the Emir of Kuwait received the Qatari Emir’s brothers, Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad and Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad, who conveyed a verbal message from Sheikh Tamim to the Kuwaiti Emir.

Meanwhile, Kuwait’s official news agency (KUNA) on Saturday quoted an official sources at the Kuwaiti foreign ministry as saying that Kuwait has already completed the delivery of invitations from Sheikh Sabah to the GCC leaders to attend the 38th GCC Summit.

The sources added that the invitations were handed to Gulf leaders by Kuwaiti ambassadors in GCC member states.

Iran's Consul General in Jeddah Hassan Zarnegar praised the level of organization and the facilities provided to Iranian pilgrims during their departure through Arar Airport and the Jadidat Arar border crossing.

He stressed that the smooth procedures he observed reflect the Kingdom and its leadership’s care for pilgrims, and highlight the continuous attention given to pilgrims from all countries.

“The streamlined procedures from the moment pilgrims disembarked the aircraft, to the swift passport processing, and the well-organized transfer to the border crossing by bus, demonstrate efficiency in managing pilgrim affairs,” he was quoted by SPA as saying, adding that the services provided to Iranian pilgrims confirm the Kingdom’s steadfast approach in respecting nations.

He also highlighted that relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran are based on religious and neighborly ties, noting that the care extended to Iranian pilgrims is not surprising in light of this spirit of brotherhood.

On behalf of himself and the Iranian ambassador to the Kingdom, he expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Kingdom’s leadership for the care and attention given to Iranian pilgrims as part of an integrated system.
