Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz received on Tuesday the relatives of slain Judge Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah al-Jirani, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
He expressed his condolences to the relatives, who in turn thanked the king for his support.
The meeting at the Yamama Palace in Riyadh was attended by Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz.
Jirani, judge at the Endowments and Inheritance Department in al-Qatif, was kidnapped from in front of his home on the island of Tarout in 2016.
In December 2017, security forces identified and arrested three of his kidnappers.
Jirani’s body was discovered in a farm region in al-Awamiya on December 19 after engaging in an armed clash with his kidnappers, leaving one of them dead.
