A Kuwait Airways plane was involved in a collision with another passenger jet at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, Kuwait’s state-run KUNA news agency reported.

The plane was on the runway ready for takeoff early Saturday when it was hit by another aircraft, it said.

According to KUNA, no injuries among the passengers were reported.

All passengers were transferred to a hotel until further arrangements are taken, it said.

On Thursday, officials closed the runways at La Guardia and Kennedy Airports in New York after a giant winter storm walloped the US East Coast with heavy snow and freezing cold.

Flights resumed on Friday from the region's bustling airports in Boston and New York, although 20 percent were again canceled at the Kennedy airport and 30 percent from La Guardia.
