The Arab Parliament praised the efforts exerted by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to achieve peace, establish security and stability in the Horn of Africa, host the historic summit between leaders of Ethiopia and Eritrea in Jeddah on September 16, and sign a peace agreement that has ended the state of war and hostility between the two countries after more than 20 years.
In its first session of the second parliamentary term, the Parliament hailed King Salman’s hosting of the historic summit that brought together the leaders of Djibouti and Eritrea in Jeddah in September and the signing of a peace agreement that ended the 10-year differences between the two neighboring countries.
Meanwhile, it stressed that the success of the King’s efforts in bringing peace, ending the state of hostility and rupture, opening a new page of cooperation relations between these two countries, and the great role played by Saudi Arabia in reaching these historic agreements stems from the great position enjoyed by Saudi Arabia.
It said the Kingdom enjoys Arab, regional, and international support and is capable of playing a pivotal role in maintaining peace and security to protect Arab national security and promote stability in the region and the world.
The Parliament also lauded the efforts of Saudi diplomacy to promote cooperation and peace among nations and peoples, consolidate the concepts of tolerance, dialogue and coexistence, and establish relations based on mutual respect, good neighborliness and common interests to realize peoples' aspirations for security, peace, development, progress and prosperity.
