Speaker of Egypt's House of Representatives Ali Abdel Aal kicked off over the weekend a five-day official visit to Kuwait.

The visit aims at boosting bilateral relations and strengthening parliamentary cooperation.

He started his visit by meeting Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah at al-Bayan Palace on Sunday.

The Emir stressed his country’s continued support to Egypt to achieve greater stability.

Abdel Aal hailed Kuwait’s financial and political support for Egypt and the humanitarian role played by Sheikh Sabah, especially in light of his receiving the title of “Leader of Humanitarian Action” by the United Nations.

He praised the balanced role played by Kuwait in the region, saying the Gulf country always hosts conferences to provide support for people in Syria and Iraq.

He added that it has hosted Yemeni negotiations and provided them with many facilitations that culminated in the Sweden talks in December.

Abdel Aal extended an invitation to Sheikh Sabah to visit Egypt and deliver a speech from parliament and address the Egyptian people, according to MENA.

He also commended Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker Marzouq al-Ghanim’s role and keenness to communicate with people in both countries.

He lauded his role in international and regional parliamentary forums to support Arab issues.

Abdel Aal said that he brought with him a large parliamentary delegation with him to Kuwait in recognition of distinguished bilateral relations between Cairo and Kuwait, especially parliamentary cooperation.

Kuwait’s Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber al-Mubarak al-Sabah lauded the Egyptian community’s role in Kuwait’s development, stressing the importance of exchanging visits between the two countries' officials.

He said these visits aim at enhancing the bilateral ties in which both parties could exchange views on various issues of mutual interest.
