National Energy Services Company (NESCo), Tarshid, announced signing an agreement with Saudi Arabian National Guard Forces (SANG) to renovate buildings of the Ministry and its departments and make them energy efficient.
According to the agreement, Tarshid will renovate the buildings based on technical studies that will determine the most suitable energy efficiency solutions in accordance with international standards.
The first main buildings to be renovated are those of the National Guard and King Abdulaziz Medical City and its affiliated hospitals, followed by the National Guard headquarters.
The total number of buildings Tarshid targets amounts to 1,779, in addition to renovating 20,000 lamps to light the streets in the Ministry of National Guard in Riyadh.
Tarshid’s preliminary technical studies show that buildings of the Ministry of National Guard’s main compound consume up to 20,000 megawatts per hour annually.
While King Abdulaziz Medical City consumes about 150,000 MW per hour annually.
Tarshid, for its part, targets rationalizing consumption by about 25 percent for the main compound and 30 percent for the medical city.
These projects are part of the company’s goals to rationalize energy consumption in the public sector.
In addition, it is important for public and private sectors to adopt energy efficiency initiatives, having operational benefits that contribute to the enhancement of the employees and auditors’ working environment in addition to the economic benefits.
