The Saudi embassy in Turkey issued on Saturday an advisory to its citizens in the country after two Saudi nationals were victims of armed robbery in Istanbul’s Sisli neighborhood.

One Saudi was shot and injured and the robbers made away with their luggage.

The embassy urged in a statement Saudis to exercise caution in Istanbul and refrain from visiting the Taksim and Sisli districts after sundown.

This was the sixth advisory issued by the Kingdom for Turkey in 2019.

In July, the Saudi embassy had warned nationals against falling victim to Turkish gangs that were scamming Saudi tourists.

Asharq Al-Awsat had previously reported 165 cases of Saudi passports being stolen at three Turkish tourist spots.
