Secretary General of the Future Syria Party Havrin Khalaf was killed when her car was struck on the road to Qamishli on Saturday.
Kurdish Media Network Rudaw blamed the Turkish army for targeting Khalaf. Meanwhile, Hawarnews said she was killed in an ambush by ISIS mercenaries on the international road leading to the city of Qamishli.
Khalaf was born in 1983 in the northern northeastern city of Al-Malikiyah. She studied agricultural engineering in Aleppo.
In 2014, following the announcement of the Kurdish autonomous administration, Hafrin became deputy to the Energy Commission and then head of the Economic Commission for Kurdish-controlled areas in Syria.
In March 2018 Hafrin Khalaf got involved in politics and was later elected secretary-general of the Future Syria Party.
