UAE, Bahrain Discuss Regional Developments

Prospects for further strengthening the long-standing relations between the UAE and the Kingdom of Bahrain were reviewed on Saturday by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Bahraini Foreign Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Khalifa.

Sheikh Mohammed received the Bahraini top diplomat in Abu Dhabi, with the two sides echoing their two countries' determination to grow bilateral relations for the common good of their peoples.

During the meeting their reviewed regional developments and exchanged viewpoints on a number of issues of mutual concern.

Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi has condemned the terrorist bombing that targeted a church in Damascus, Syria, which resulted in the deaths of several innocent civilians and left many others injured.

Albudaiwi reaffirmed the GCC’s firm position of solidarity with the leadership and people of Syria, expressing full support in their efforts to combat terrorism that threatens the country’s security and stability, SPA reported.

He also extended his condolences to the families of the victims and wished a swift recovery for the injured.
