Arab Coalition Downs 2 Houthi Drones Fired towards Saudi Arabia
The Saudi-led Arab coalition intercepted and downed on Monday two drones fired by the Iran-backed Houthi militias towards Saudi Arabia.
Coalition spokesman Colonel Turki al-Malki said the drones were launched from Yemen towards civilian areas in Khamis Mushait.
He slammed the Houthis for their ongoing violation of international humanitarian law through their firing of such aircraft and their deliberate targeting of civilians.
Such hostile and terrorist acts also underscore the Houthis’ rejection of the coalition’s ceasefire and de-escalation initiative that it had announced on April 9, he added.
Instead of reciprocating, the Houthis have persisted in their violations, committing over 5,000 using all forms of light and heavy weapons, as well as ballistic missiles, said Malki.
