Head of Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency, Yossi Cohen, is in contact with senior Qatari officials to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip, Israeli media sources revealed.

Israel’s Channel 11 uncovered on Tuesday the contacts between the two sides.

The sources said this was not the first time Cohen reaches out to Qatari officials.

He has in fact stepped in on previous occasions to facilitate the transfer of funds from Qatar to Gaza, they added.

Israel wants to make sure that Doha will continue to provide funds to the coastal enclave in the future, they revealed.

Saudi Arabia condemned the ramming attack at a market in the German city of Magdeburg, the foreign ministry said in a statement on Saturday.

Police arrested a suspect in the attack, which killed at least two people and injured dozens of others on Friday evening.

The ministry expressed its condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims and to the government, wishing those injured a swift recovery.

Saudi Arabia also reiterated its firm stance against all forms of violence.
