Bahrain King Issues Decree on Establishment of Consulate General in Laayoune

Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued on Sunday a decree on the establishment of a consular mission in the Moroccan city of Laayoune, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

The Royal Decree stipulates the establishment of a Bahraini Consulate General in Laayoune, BNA said.

The Foreign Affairs Minister shall implement the decree, which takes immediate effect, and will be published in the Official Gazette, the news agency added.

Saudi Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz held talks with his French counterpart Bruno Retailleau in Paris on Monday on several issues related to security affairs between their countries.

Prince Abdulaziz emphasized that discussions aimed to boost security cooperation in implementation of the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, given the distinguished relations between the Kingdom and France.

He emphasized the keenness of the Saudi government to deepen cooperation and collaboration with France in combating all forms of crime, tracking down perpetrators, countering international drug trafficking and money laundering networks, and facilitating the exchange of expertise between experts from both countries.

He highlighted the significant progress achieved in previous security cooperation efforts.

Following the talks, Prince Abdulaziz and Retailleau signed the executive document outlining future security cooperation pathways between the Saudi and French ministries.

Several senior officials from both ministries attended the talks.

Prince Abdulaziz later met with a group of Ministry of Interior scholarship students studying in France.

He stressed that the Saudi leadership places great importance on the welfare of Saudi scholarship students, ensuring the provision of a supportive educational environment to help them succeed.

He expressed his pride in the students’ academic and professional accomplishments, encouraging them to remain diligent, uphold religious and national values, and represent the Kingdom in a manner that reflects its esteemed status. He also wished them continued success in their academic and professional pursuits.
