Sultan of Oman Appoints Chiefs of Staff, Navy, Air Force

Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq al-Said issued royal decrees on Monday, appointing a chief of staff and commander of the air force.

He promoted Rear Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis al Raisi to Lt. Gen and appointed him as Sultan Armed Forces’ Chief of Staff.

He promoted Commodore Saif bin Nasser al Rahbi to the rank of Major General and appointed him as commander of the Royal Navy.

He promoted Air Commodore Khamis bin Hammad al Ghafri to the rank of Major General and appointed him as commander of the Royal Air Force.

He named Dr. Mohammed bin Nasser bin Ali al Zaabi as Secretary-General at the Ministry of Defense, with the rank of a minister.

He promoted Air Commodore Eng. Saleh Yahya Al Maskri to the rank of Major General and appointed him as commandant of the National College of Defense.

Saudi Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz received in Riyadh on Tuesday Sudanese Ambassador to Riyadh Dafallah Al-Haj Ali Osman.

He also later received Japan’s Ambassador to the Kingdom Yasunari Morino.

The meetings tackled a number of topics of common interest.
