Dina al-Nahdi, who is a member of the board of directors at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, confirmed that Saudi women participation in the Kingdom’s commerce chambers has moved past the phase of trying to prove their presence.
Women in Saudi Arabia, according to al-Nahdi, are now competing across the business sector generally.
At the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, al-Nahdi is working to help realize the goals of Saudi Arabia’s plan for national transformation, dubbed “Kingdom Vision 2030.”
She is involved in securing vital resources, preserving the environment and natural resources, and improving the quality of life in Saudi cities.
Her role at the Chamber's environmental committee, which serves as an advisory arm for various sectors, plays an important part in improving economic efficiency, strengthening partnerships and providing effective strategies and tools for planning and implementation to ensure a safe and secure environment.
Speaking to Asharq Al-Awsat, al-Nahdi said that studies and assessments in the environmental field contribute to the amendment and improvement of project designs.
They also ensure optimal use of resources and improve the social impact of projects, she added.
More so, recent studies reveal that major investment opportunities exist in the circular economy and projects built on the foundations of environmental sustainability, asserted al-Nahdi, who was appointed as vice president of the G20’s global sustainability and emergency team.
