Ambassadors from 24 countries presented on Wednesday their credentials to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz.

The ceremony was held virtually due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah and Minister of State and member of cabinet Dr. Musaed Al-Aiban were present.

King Salman welcomed the ambassador to the Kingdom, wishing their countries progress and prosperity.

The new ambassadors represent Mexico, the Ivory Coast, United Kingdom, Afghanistan, Italy, Peru, Sudan, Bangladesh, the Netherlands, Tajikistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, France, Uganda, Greece, Myanmar, Tunisia, Latvia, Rwanda, Oman, Malta, Estonia, Japan, the United Arab Emirates and the European Union.

GCC Condemns Israeli Attacks on Syria

Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi strongly condemned on Wednesday Israel’s attacks on Syria.

"The attacks are a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of Syria, a breach of international laws and norms, and a serious threat to regional security and stability," he stressed.

The continuation of these attacks by are “reckless escalation and a disregard for the international community's efforts to achieve security and stability in Syria and the region,” he added.

He underscored the GCC's “firm position in support of Syria's unity and territorial integrity, and its complete rejection of any external interference that undermines its sovereignty or exacerbates the suffering of its people.”

Albudaiwi called on the international community “to assume its responsibilities to stop these violations, hold the perpetrators accountable, and work diligently to protect the Syrian people and preserve their sovereignty in line with the principles of the United Nations Charter and international law.”
