Saudi Deputy Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman hailed on Wednesday Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, for registering in the organ donation program at the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation.
In a tweet, he said their gesture was one of the “noblest acts that demonstrates their deep compassion with patients suffering from organ failure.”
King Salman had sought to establish the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation - previously known as the National Center for Kidneys - in order to ease the suffering of patients with kidney failure.
The center emphasizes the importance of expanding the circle of organ donation to include all patients with end-stage organ failure and spread hope among those on waiting lists and whose recovery process depends on the transplant of a new organ, such as a heart, liver, kidney, and lung.
