Saudi Arabia has distributed more than 13 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine to around 600 vaccination centers across the Kingdom.
Meanwhile, the General Directorate of Passports has started extending the validity of residency permits for expatriates who are currently outside the Kingdom, in addition to prolonging visitors’ visas and exit and return visas automatically without any fees or charges, until June 2, 2021.
This decision comes in line with the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz as part of efforts to confront the repercussions of the pandemic and mitigate its economic and financial impact.
The infections curve in the Kingdom continues to flatten, as 1,157 new cases were reported on Monday, compared to 987 recoveries, while the Ministry of Health announced that 15 persons succumbed to the virus.
The General Authority of Civil Aviation issued on Sunday a guidebook for non-Saudi travelers and individuals who have not received the vaccine, including mechanisms and institutional quarantine procedures, in both Arabic and English.
The guidelines detailed the arrival procedures at the airport and emphasized the need for all inbound passengers to implement health precautions and protocols applied at airport facilities, and to follow the specified routes to reach passports control.
Passengers above the age of 8 must undergo two PCR Tests, within 24 hours of arrival and on the seventh day. If the result is negative, they will be allowed to leave quarantine on the eighth day. Those who test positive for the virus must continue to be isolated in institutional quarantine facilities for a period of 10-14 days until their recovery.
Moreover, all travelers who intend to visit the Kingdom (excluding citizens, residents and GCC citizens) must have medical insurance that covers the costs of COVID-19 treatment in outpatient clinics, emergencies and hospitals, including the institutional quarantine for a period of 14 days.
