Riyadh renewed its support for Tunisia’s security and stability, during a meeting held between Tunisian President Kais Saied and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah at the Carthage Palace in Tunis on Friday.

The Tunisian president highly valued the Kingdom’s permanent support for his country and thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, for responding to his request to allocate medical equipment and supplies to help his country combat the Covid-19 pandemic.

During the meeting, the officials reviewed the current situation in the country, and the decisions taken by Saied to restore stability and address the health and economic situation.

The Saudi Foreign Minister affirmed the Kingdom’s respect to Tunisia’s internal affairs and sovereignty, underlining constant support for the country’s security and stability.

He reiterated Saudi Arabia’s confidence in the ability of the Tunisian leadership to overcome the current circumstances “in order to achieve a decent life and prosperity for the brotherly Tunisian people.”

Prince Faisal bin Farhan said on his Twitter account following the meeting that he was honored to convey the greetings of the Saudi leadership to the Tunisian president and to renew the Kingdom’s position in support of the security and stability of Tunisia.

Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah has met with Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani.

Monday’s meeting took place on the sidelines of the Saudi minister's participation in the expanded session of the second Group of Seven (G7) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting held in Fiuggi, Italy.

The two sides discussed relations between the two countries and explored ways to enhance cooperation across various fields. They also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Prince Faisal and Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mélanie Joly also met in Fiuggi.
