Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held talks in Ankara on Wednesday with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on bilateral relations and several regional and international issues, especially the crisis over the Ethiopian Grand Renaissance Dam (GERD) and Sudanese region of Fashqa.
Head of the Sudanese sovereign council Abdul Fattah al-Burhan had met with Erdogan in Ankara last Thursday.
During a press conference on Wednesday, Erdogan said his country was ready to contribute in all ways to reach a friendly solution to the crisis between Sudan and Ethiopia over the Fashqa region.
He stressed that Ankara will mediate to resolve the crisis.
During his talks with Burhan, Erdogan had expressed his concern over the tensions between Khartoum and Addis Ababa over the GERD.
He had underscored the importance of relations between the nations of the Horn of Africa, urging the need for dialogue to reach a solution that appeases all parties.
