The Saudi-led Arab coalition said on Wednesday that it had intercepted and downed an armed drone fired by the Iran-backed Houthi militias towards the Kingdom.

The aircraft was targeting the Abha International Airport.

The Houthis are committing grave violations of international humanitarian law by attempting to target civilians, said the coalition.

It stressed that it was firmly dealing with the sources of threats to protect civilians and civilian locations from hostile attacks.
