Oman will not allow employees in the public or private sectors to enter their workplace without a vaccination certificate that proves they are fully vaccinated, the health minister said in a news conference on Monday.

Omani authorities require foreign travelers aged 18 or older to have received at least two COVID-19 vaccine doses to enter the sultanate, the state news agency reported on Sunday.

The sultanate also cancelled a previous decision that suspended entry from South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Eswatini and Mozambique.

Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi condemned the Israeli occupation forces' decision to occupy the Gaza Strip, stating that this move is a blatant challenge to the will of the international community and a flagrant violation of all UN resolutions and international laws.

He also stressed that this dangerous escalation undermines all efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Friday.

Albudaiwi affirmed that the aggressive approach of the Israeli occupation forces displays their determination to continue threatening regional security and stability.

He called on the international community to intensify its efforts and take urgent, effective measures to pressure the Israeli forces to stop their serious and systematic violations and to provide international protection for the Palestinian people.

Albudaiwi reiterated the GCC's firm support for the Palestinian cause and full backing of the Palestinian people in their legitimate struggle to restore their inalienable rights. This includes the establishment of an independent state on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
