The Arab League strongly condemned on Sunday the terrorist attacks by the Iran-backed Houthi militias against the United Arab Emirates on Monday.

The UAE said the attacks, using three Cruise missiles, hit a fuel depot of state oil firm ADNOC in Musaffah and a construction site near Abu Dhabi airport. Three people were killed and six wounded in the attack.

The Arab League held in Cairo on Sunday an extraordinary meeting for its permanent representatives to address the attacks.

They slammed the terrorist aggression carried out by the Houthis, stressing that they stand by the UAE against all threats to its security and stability.

The attacks on Abu Dhabi are a flagrant violation of international laws and a real threat to vital civilian facilities, energy supplies and the stability of the global economy, they added.

They are also a threat to regional and international peace and Arab national security, they continued.

The gatherers welcomed the solidarity expressed by countries and regional and international organizations with the UAE.

They called on the United Nations and its Security Council to assume their responsibilities and take a decisive and united stance against the Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

They urged them to deter and confront the ongoing atrocities committed by the Houthis in Yemen and their deliberate obstruction of the delivery of humanitarian aid in the country.
