The foreign minister of the United Arab Emirates discussed developments in Ukraine and ways to strengthen two-way ties during a telephone call with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, the state news agency (WAM) said Wednesday.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Blinken discussed the importance of reaching a political settlement to the Ukrainian crisis, WAM said.

They also discussed the latest regional and global developments and exchanged views on them, the news agency added.

Saudi Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz met on Wednesday at his office in Jeddah with Hungarian counterpart Kristَof Szalay-Bobrovniczky.

During the meeting, the defense ministers discussed relations between Saudi Arabia and Hungary, especially in defense fields, and addressed regional and international developments alongside efforts made to address them, the Saudi Press Agency reported Thursday.

Deputy Minister of Defense Prince Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Ayyaf and several officials from both countries attended the meeting.
