Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, held talks in Riyadh on Wednesday with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

They held official talks that covered the relations of friendship and cooperation between Riyadh and London.

They tackled regional and international developments of interest, including the war in Ukraine.

The Saudi-British strategic partnership council convened after their talks.

A memorandum of understanding was signed on the formation of the strategic partnership council between the Saudi, UK and Northern Ireland government. The agreement was signed by Crown Prince Mohammed and Johnson.

The British premier had arrived in Riyadh earlier on Wednesday. He had flown in from the United Arab Emirates where he held talks with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

"They welcomed the longstanding partnership between our two countries and discussed opportunities to increase collaboration on energy security, defense and trade," tweeted Johnson's office.

Prior to arriving in the region, his office tweeted: "Today the Prime Minister is visiting the UAE and Saudi Arabia for talks on energy, regional security and international diplomacy as part of the UK’s work to galvanize global action on the invasion of Ukraine."
