Qatari FM Discusses Safer Tanker with Yemen UN Resident Coordinator, US Envoy

Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani held talks in Doha on Thursday with United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen, David Gressly, and US Special Envoy to Yemen, Tim Lenderking.

The minister stressed that negotiations between Yemeni parties is the only way to resolve the crisis in their country.

The solution to the conflict must be based on the national dialogue outcomes, Gulf initiative and relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

The Qatari Foreign Ministry said the meeting tackled the latest developments in Yemen, including the situation over the eroding Safer oil tanker.

Saudi Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz met on Wednesday at his office in Jeddah with Hungarian counterpart Kristَof Szalay-Bobrovniczky.

During the meeting, the defense ministers discussed relations between Saudi Arabia and Hungary, especially in defense fields, and addressed regional and international developments alongside efforts made to address them, the Saudi Press Agency reported Thursday.

Deputy Minister of Defense Prince Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Ayyaf and several officials from both countries attended the meeting.
