Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Hissein Ibrahim Taha held talks in Riyadh on Tuesday with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Talks focused on regional and international challenges, with the officials stressing the importance of coordination and consultations to serve international peace efforts and stability in the world.

They underscored their keenness on boosting the ties of friendship between Russia and the Islamic world.

They tackled bilateral cooperation and coordination over issues of common interest.

Lavrov is on a tour of the region that he kicked off in Bahrain on Monday.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, has sent a cable of congratulations to the President of Tunisia, Kais Saied, on his country's Republic Day.
King Salman wished President Saied continued good health and happiness and the government and people of Tunisia steady progress and prosperity.
For his part, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud also sent a cable of congratulations to President Saied wishing him continued good health and happiness and the government and people of Tunisia steady progress and prosperity.
