Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani arrived in Cairo on Friday on a two-day official visit.

He arrived in the country at the invitation of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

It is his first to Egypt since the AlUla declaration that was signed in 2021, ending the rift between Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt with Qatar over its support to terrorism.

Sheikh Tamim flew in to Egypt from Rwanda where he attended the summit for Commonwealth heads of state in Kigali.
