Romero Completes Permanent Move to Tottenham

Argentina defender Cristian Romero has signed a permanent contract to remain with Tottenham until 2027, the English Premier League club said on Tuesday.

Romero joined on a season-long loan from Italian team Atalanta in August last year and has established himself as a key member of Tottenham's defense as well as a popular player among the London club's fan base.

The 24-year-old Romero, who began his career with Argentine side Atletico Belgrano and has played 11 times for his country, joined Atalanta from Juventus in 2021.

The 2025 Esports World Cup in Riyadh continued to build momentum in its fourth week, as three major tournaments concluded and competition among the world’s top esports clubs intensified.

Saudi Arabia’s Team Falcons further cemented their dominance by extending their lead in the overall club standings to 3,500 points following a string of standout performances, SPA reported.

Team Liquid of the Netherlands secured second place with 3,200 points, while France’s Team Vitality claimed third with 2,400 points.

Republic of Korea’s Gen.G Esports came in fourth place with 2,100 points, closely pursued by China’s AG.AL in fifth with 1,950 points. Russia’s Virtus.pro secured sixth place, earning 1,700 points, while Spain’s Team Heretics rounded out the top seven with 1,300 points. Tied for eighth, Russia’s Team Spirit and Saudi Arabia’s Twisted Minds each garnered 1,200 points.

The tournament continues over the coming weeks, with fans eagerly anticipating even greater excitement and challenges in the world’s largest international esports event.
