‘Arab Ambassadors,’ UK Labor Party Stress Need for Partnership, Sustainable Development

Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the UK, Sheikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, hosted a reception by the Council of Arab Ambassadors for members of the British Labor Party in Liverpool.

Labor Party leader Keir Starmer stressed the importance of his party’s relationship with Arab states.

He thanked Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit and Sheikh Fawaz for the invitation.

Stramer voiced his appreciation of the participation of the Council of Arab Ambassadors in the UK Labor Party conference.

For his part, Sheikh Fawaz welcomed the leader of the Labor Party and highlighted the deep relations shared between the UK and Arab states.

Sheikh Fawaz emphasized the importance of reinforcing Arab-British relations and finding the right opportunities for partnership and sustainable development in all fields of common interest.

UK Shadow Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs David Lammy touched upon common aspects of cooperation that the Labor Party seeks to develop with Arab countries. These areas include facing the challenges of climate change, clean energy, promoting human rights, and enhancing trade exchange and economic cooperation.

Shadow Secretary of State for International Trade Nick Thomas-Symonds expressed the Labor Party's aspiration to strengthen and develop trade relations with Arab countries.

According to Thomas-Symonds, the Labor Party is seeking to develop trade in new and growing sectors of technology and clean energy. This will contribute to raising the level of trade exchange between the UK and all friendly states.

In a recorded speech, Aboul Gheit stressed the depth of Arab-British relations and the importance of cooperation to face global challenges and develop economic and trade relations.

The reception viewed the screening of a promotional film for tourism in Arab countries.

Saudi Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz has met with Australia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Richard Marles in Riyadh.

The two ministers discussed bilateral relations in the defense sector, reviewed recent regional and global developments, and the efforts made to support security and stability.

They also discussed several issues of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from both sides.
