Minister of Health Fahad bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel launched on Sunday the World Health Forum and an exhibition, which will be held from October 9-11 at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center.

More than 26,000 people from 30 countries are expected to attend the event which represents the largest forum for healthcare professionals in the world, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The forum aims to create integration between the public and private sectors, provide investment opportunities, enable dialogue aimed at achieving the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and advance digital transformation in the healthcare sector, SPA said.

On the sidelines of the World Health Forum, Al-Jalajel met with officials from the private health sector and representatives of small and medium enterprises, insurance companies, and local pharmaceutical factories to develop the relationship and raise awareness on the role of investment in the health sector with partners, it added.

During the opening ceremony, Al-Jalajel announced that there are over 100 partnership projects with the private sector in health services planned over the next five years with estimated capital investment opportunities by the private sector of around SR48 billion.

The Muslim World League (MWL) condemned on Sunday Israel for attacking a United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) school where displaced civilians in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip were sheltering.

In a statement, MWL Secretary General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, on behalf of the MWL and its global academies, entities, and councils, denounced the horrific and ongoing barbaric crimes against civilians and civilian facilities.

These actions are a blatant violation of all international and humanitarian laws and norms, he stressed, underlining the urgent need for the international community to respond to the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Palestinian territories by putting an end to systematic crimes being committed against innocent civilians.
