Saudi Foreign Minister Meets with Counterparts from Malta, El Salvador

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan met on Sunday with his Maltese counterpart Ian Borg in Riyadh, the foreign ministry said.

During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations and ways to enhance and develop them, in addition to discussing aspects of coordination on regional and international matters.

Prince Faisal also met with the Foreign Minister of El Salvador, Alexandra Hill Tinoco.

They reviewed relations between the Kingdom and El Salvador, and opportunities to improve cooperation between the two countries.

Furthermore, they discussed a number of issues of common interest, and the latest developments in the region and the world.

Saudi Arabia condemned on Wednesday Israel’s publication of maps that show its occupation of parts of Jordan, Syria and Lebanon, claiming these territories as its own.

In a statement, the Saudi Foreign Ministry slammed such extremist acts that reflect Israel’s “intentions to consolidate its occupation and continue its flagrant violation of the sovereignty of those nations.”

Saudi Arabia called on the international community to assume is responsibility in stopping these violations, “stressing the need to respect the sovereignty and borders of these countries to ease tensions and put a stop to attempts to undermine peace efforts.”
