The Secretary General of the Muslim World League (MWL), Sheikh Mohammed al-Issa, appreciated the Makkah document's endorsement by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries.

The Document is set to benefit the OIC's religious, educational, and cultural institutions.

Issa praised its adoption in training imams, especially in countries with Islamic minorities, as a crucial Islamic document in modern times. The muftis and scholars of the Islamic nation authorized it.

Issa, also Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars, received the Secretary General of the OIC, Hissein Brahim Taha, accompanied by the head of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy and an affiliate of OIC, Qutub Sano.

OIC’s Secretary General praised the Makkah Charter, which was honored by the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the initiative of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Grand Muftis of the Islamic world and scholars signed the Makkah Document in Saudi Arabia during a conference under the sponsorship of King Salman.

It witnessed significant Islamic and international interaction following its adoption in religious curricula and the training of imams in Asia, Africa, and the Americas.

Earlier, the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League received the Head of the Islamic Sheikhdom, Head of Scholars, and Grand Mufti of Bosnia and Herzegovina Husein Kavazovic, who is currently visiting Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, they discussed several issues related to the situations of Muslims in Bosnia and Herzegovina and bilateral cooperation in the Islamic fields between the ministry and the sheikhdom in light of the memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries.

Saudi Arabia strongly condemned on Wednesday the storming of Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque compound by Israel’s far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry slammed the repeated “flagrant Israeli violations of the sanctity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.”

It also condemned Israeli forces for attacking an UNRWA clinic in northern Gaza, saying it was another in a series of attacks by Israel against UN and relief agencies.

“The Kingdom condemns the continued Israeli violations of international law and international humanitarian law, underscoring its categorical rejection of everything that may undermine the historic and legal status of Jerusalem and its holy sites,” said the ministry.

It called on the international community to “put a stop to the Israeli war machine that has no regard for any human values or law or international norms.”

It warned that the international community’s failure to deter these dangerous and ongoing violations will undermine opportunities to achieve peace and undermine the credibility of international law, as well as impact regional and global security and stability.
