The US military said it shot down an Iranian-made drone in Syria on Tuesday.
The drone was attempting to conduct reconnaissance on a patrol base in northeastern Syria, US Central Command said on Twitter.
It said in a statement that the reconnaissance drone flew over Mission Support Site Conoco on Tuesday afternoon before American forces shot it down.
No group claimed responsibility for flying the drone in northeastern Syria, where it is not uncommon for bases housing US troops to come under rocket fire or mortar attacks.
