The Kuwaiti Criminal Court on Tuesday acquitted thirteen nationals of charges of financing terrorism and joining the ranks of the Hezbollah party.

In November, 2021, the defendants were interrogated on charges of funding groups and organizations linked to the Lebanese Hezbollah group.

The prosecution ordered the defendants be put in prison.

Security authorities have run investigations into financial transfers believed to fund Hezbollah-linked associations in Lebanon.

The detainees are accused of making large transfers of money over the course of years to external parties, including to Lebanon.

The defendants denied the accusations, claiming to work for a charity organization for helping orphans in the last thirty years.
