Saudi Ship Carries Out Largest Evacuation Since Sudan Fighting Broke Out

A Saudi-flagged ship arrived Saturday at the King Faisal Naval Base in Jeddah, carrying the largest number of evacuees since evacuations from Sudan kicked off.

The Saudi-flagged ship “Amana” carried 20 Saudi citizens, as well as 1,866 nationals of brotherly and friendly countries from different nationalities, including: Thailand, Australia, Rwanda, Gambia, Eritrea, Malawi, Macedonia, France, India, Norway, Palestine, Yemen, and the United States of America, Syria, Philippines, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Sweden, Kenya, Tunisia, Iraq, Libya, Morocco, Jordan, Mauritania, Tanzania, Iran, Pakistan, Canada, Russia, Panama, Ecuador, Ireland, Greece, Vietnam, Nepal, Bosnia and Herzegovina, South Sudan, Somalia, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Burundi, Myanmar, Indonesia, Tajikistan, Mongolia, Turkiye, Italy, Ethiopia, Chad, Germany, South Africa, Uganda, Liberia, Namibia, Sierra Leone, United Kingdom, Belgium, Benin, the Netherlands, Egypt, Mauritius, and Romania, in addition to a number of UN staff.

Saudi Arabia was keen to provide all the basic needs for foreign nationals in preparation for facilitating their departure to their countries, bringing the total of those evacuated from Sudan since evacuation operations started to almost 4,879 people, including 139 Saudi citizens and almost 4,738 people belonging from 96 nationalities.

The Kingdom continues exerting evacuation efforts that kicked off under the directives of the Kingdom’s Leadership.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has received a written message from Russian President Vladimir Putin concerning relations between the two countries.

On behalf of Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Eng. Waleed ElKhereiji received the message in his meeting in Riyadh on Thursday with Russian Ambassador to the Kingdom Sergey Kozlov.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them.
