The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) signed on Tuesday 12 contracts to implement various humanitarian and relief projects for Syrian people in several Syrian cities.

In a press statement distributed, Advisor at the Royal Court and General Supervisor of KSRelief Center Abdullah al-Rabeeah said that the 12 projects, worth $18,321,549 were signed under the directive of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The projects aimed to alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people, inside the most affected areas, such as Ghouta, Daraa, Homs and other areas.

These are part of a series of aid projects carried out by KSRelief Center for Syrian people inside and outside their country.

Rabeeah said that they target food security, healthcare and hospital operation, as well as community support in education, protection, agriculture, shelter and improved livelihoods.

He indicated that they reflect the role of Saudi Arabia and its people in easing human suffering throughout the world.

The projects will include the inauguration of community centers that provide psycho-social services and vocational rehabilitation for children and women in cooperation with Ihsan for Relief and Development. They will also rehabilitate and support public schools in cooperation with the Bunyan Charity Organization.

In addition, the projects aim at restoring small business that were damaged during the Syrian war through the small grants program in cooperation with Bunyan.

Add to that, the center will execute several projects with various foundations including: Syrian American Medical Society Foundation (SAMS), Syria Relief and Development, al-Ameen for Humanitarian Support and Building Foundation for Development (BFD).

Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi has expressed his condemnation regarding the targeting of a World Food Program (WFP) aid convoy in the North Kordofan State in Sudan.

He characterized this assault as a grave violation of international humanitarian law and an unacceptable transgression of the rules and norms that safeguard humanitarian operations, SPA reported.

"The targeting of relief convoys and humanitarian workers is a reprehensible act that obstructs the delivery of vital assistance to those affected," he said, adding that such actions exacerbate the suffering of civilians, particularly given the dire humanitarian conditions currently prevailing in Sudan.

Albudaiwi also referenced the statement of the GCC Supreme Council’s 46th Session, which reaffirmed support for peace-building efforts aimed at preserving Sudan’s security, stability, and sovereignty.

The statement also underscored the commitment to political efforts to reach a ceasefire and achieve a political transition in Sudan through the establishment of an independent civilian government, fulfilling the Sudanese people’s aspirations for peace, growth, and stability.
