The Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen said on Sunday that it has intercepted and downed a drone launched by the Houthi militias from Yemen's Sanaa province towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Coalition Spokesman Colonel Turki al-Maliki explained that all attempts by the Iran-backed terrorists to launch drones are doomed to fail, saying the coalition takes all operational procedures and best practices of rules of engagement to deal with them.

He reiterated that the command of the coalition joint forces continues to implement deterrent measures against the insurgents to destroy their capabilities in line with international humanitarian law.

Maliki said that the repeated attempts of the Houthis to target Saudi Arabia is a sign of despair.

In another statement, the spokesman said that the militias launched on Saturday two ballistic missiles from Amran Governorate’s Harf Sufyan Directorate.

The missiles fell inside Yemeni territory in the Hiran Directorate of Hajja province.

Maliki accused the militias of violating international humanitarian law by firing ballistic missiles, which indiscriminately fall on civilian areas in a direct threat to the lives of dozens of civilians.

Kuwait's foreign ministry issued on Sunday a circular indicating that it had listed eight hospitals in Lebanon as part of regulations related to "combating terrorism.”

Lebanon's health ministry expressed surprise and said it would seek clarification.

It said it received the Kuwaiti statement "with great surprise", adding it had not been provided with "any information or notification from any Kuwaiti entity about this matter.”

"The hospitals mentioned in the statement are registered with the syndicate of private hospitals in Lebanon and carry out their role in providing treatment and health services to all Lebanese without exception," the ministry statement said.

It called the facilities "an essential part of the Lebanese health system,” and said it would contact the relevant authorities to request clarification and "protect Lebanon's health system.”

It noted that "Kuwait has numerous joint projects with the ministry... and has been among the most prominent countries that have stood by the health system during the successive crises that Lebanon has faced.”

The latest move was "unprecedented and inconsistent" with the Gulf country's usual approach, it added.
