United Arab Emirates State Minister for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash said Monday that the joint messages from Abu Dhabi and Riyadh on the developments in Yemen underscore their strategic partnership.
“The interests of Saudi Arabia are the interests of the UAE. We have absolute trust in them,” he said in a series of tweets.
This partnership is “bound by goals and cemented with sacrifices.”
Saudi Arabia and the UAE had hailed in a joint statement on Sunday the legitimate government of Yemen and the Southern Transitional Council for complying with the urgent dialogue called for by the Kingdom.
They stressed the need to preserve this positive development, embrace brotherhood and shun sedition.
Saudi Arabia and the UAE have worked closely with different parties in following up on the ceasefire in southern Yemen and in preparing for the dialogue, they said.
