Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz received in Jeddah on Monday the family of Major General Abdulaziz al-Faghm, his bodyguard who was shot and killed during a dispute over the weekend.
King Salman offered his condolences to the family, hailing Faghm’s loyalty and dedication during his years of service to the Kingdom.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, later received the family.
Faghm previously served as the bodyguard to King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz.
After his passing, he came to serve King Salman.
His shock death over the weekend sparked an outpouring of sympathy in Saudi Arabia.
His father had also served as King Abdullah’s bodyguard. He worked for him for three decades before he was succeeded by Faghm, who continued his father's legacy in serving kings.
