Türkiye has stressed the urgency of a ceasefire and the delivery of aid to Gaza as soon as possible.

"We emphasized that a full ceasefire should be declared as soon as possible, humanitarian aid should be delivered to Gaza, and the solution process should be started immediately for lasting peace," Fidan commented on the diplomatic efforts that he engaged in as part of the ministerial committee that resulted from the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit in Riyadh.

Regarding the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Fidan wrote on X: “We will continue to support the Palestinian people in their rightful struggle against occupation and oppression. We are working hard to stop the war targeting Gazan civilians.”

“We cannot leave the Palestinian people alone,” said Fidan.

He further urged the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities.

The head of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Numan Kurtulmus, has expressed hope that the ongoing efforts would lead to a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

During a televised interview on Thursday, he stressed that there is no alternative to the two-state solution.

The Turkish parliamentary speaker criticized the West for its stance supporting the Israeli barbarism against the Palestinians and for its silence towards the crimes being committed in Gaza.

He attributed this to the fact that the West senses that it owes Israel due to the past during the Nazi era, the Holocaust, and the genocide against Jews in Europe.

What is happening in Gaza and what Israel has committed of hideous crimes against civilians, children, and women have disclosed the failure of the international community and the UN.

If the Western governments were to decide, there wouldn’t have been a temporary ceasefire and truce between Israel and Hamas, he noted.

Kurtulmus went on to say that the protests in the European capitals against the Israeli attacks have contributed to reaching a ceasefire, calling on the international community and civil organizations to increase pressure on the fascist policies of Israel and on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his gang.

He stressed that to reach a permanent solution, the Palestinian state must be recognized according to the June 4, 1967, borders with East Jerusalem as the capital, and the Jewish settlers must be expelled from the occupied lands. Sacred sites of Muslims and Christians must be protected, especially Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The European Union on Monday condemned new Israeli measures to tighten control of the West Bank and pave the way for more settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory, AFP reported.

"The European Union condemns recent decisions by Israel's security cabinet to expand Israeli control in the West Bank. This move is another step in the wrong direction," EU spokesman Anouar El Anouni told journalists.

The atrocities unleashed on El-Fasher in Sudan's Darfur region last October were a "preventable human rights catastrophe", the United Nations said Monday, warning they now risked being repeated in the neighbouring Kordofan region.

"My office sounded the alarm about the risk of mass atrocities in the besieged city of El-Fasher for more than a year ... but our warnings were ignored," UN rights chief Volker Turk told the Human Rights Council in Geneva.

He added that he was now "extremely concerned that these violations and abuses may be repeated in the Kordofan region".

The General Secretariat of the Arab League strongly condemned decisions by Israeli occupation authorities to impose fundamental changes on the legal and administrative status of the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly in the West Bank, describing them as a dangerous escalation and a flagrant violation of international law, international legitimacy resolutions, and signed agreements, SPA reported.

In a statement, the Arab League said the measures include facilitating the confiscation of private Palestinian property and transferring planning and licensing authorities in the city of Hebron and the area surrounding the Ibrahimi Mosque to occupation authorities.

It warned of the serious repercussions of these actions on the rights of the Palestinian people and on Islamic and Christian holy sites.

The statement reaffirmed the Arab League’s firm support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them the establishment of their independent state on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
