The Public Investment Fund, Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, received orders for over $20 billion for its dollar-denominated triple-tranche bond sale announced on Monday, capital markets publication IFR reported.
According to a banking document published by Reuters, the PIF gave initial guidance for the issuance of around 150 basis points over US Treasuries for its 5-year bonds, 175 bps over US Treasuries for its 10-year bonds, and 235 bps over the same benchmark for its 30-year option,
The document said Citi, Goldman Sachs International, and JP Morgan will be joint global coordinators for the bond offering.
Earlier this month, Saudi Arabia launched a process to sell bonds worth $12 billion over three tranches.
Last October, the PIF completed the issuance of Sukuk worth $3.5 billion. Both issues generated strong demand.
Emerging market debt issuances started strongly in 2024, with bond sales exceeding $30 billion in the first half of January.
The bond sales attracted interest from top-rated sovereign funds. Mexico launched its largest sale ever, worth $7.5 billion, in early January, and Poland, Hungary, and Indonesia are active in this market.
