Egypt's Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) signed five framework agreements to launch projects worth more than $200 million, according to a Cabinet statement on Tuesday.
Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli attended the signing of the agreements.
They cover the following projects, a PET plastic recycling project with an approximate $15 million investment, a ready-made clothes factory with a $150 million investment, a textile and dyeing project with investments of $65 million, a pharmaceutical factory with over EGP 1 billion investment, and a wood industry project with EGP 129 million in investments.
Waleed Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the SCZone, outlined the primary objectives of the agreements. He emphasized their strategic aim to optimize the utilization of the state's resources while offering compelling incentives to investors.
These initiatives are facilitated through a comprehensive framework agreement established between the SCZone and the identified companies.
Under the agreements, the Suez Canal Economic Zone will participate in the preparation of feasibility studies for various projects, which would be an initial step to 50 other agreements currently under negotiations, Gamal El-Dien added.
