Saudi Deputy Ambassador to Kuwait Yahya Al-Qahtani inaugurated the second edition of the Saudi National Products Expo (SNP Expo), marking a significant step in strengthening the national economy and reinforcing Saudi identity.
Al-Qahtani emphasized that Saudi products are distinguished by their quality and success, showcasing the Kingdom's vast potential across various sectors and reflecting the creativity of its people.
He expressed hope that the SNP Expo, which runs until February 1, will create more opportunities for collaboration and partnerships between Saudi and Kuwaiti companies, fostering new avenues to strengthen the strong ties between the two brotherly nations, SPA reported.
Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Commerce and Industry Ziad Al-Najem praised the strong presence of Saudi products in the Kuwaiti market. He noted that these products represent more than just economic goods; they serve as symbols of cooperation and trust between the two nations and have become an essential part of daily life for Kuwaiti consumers.
Attendees toured the expo, where they were briefed on the participating brands and products across various sectors, including industry, food, health, technology, and commerce.

Egypt's Suez Canal Authority chairman Osama Rabei said on Sunday that 47 ships have been rerouted from Cape of Good Hope to Suez Canal since the start of February.

Earlier this month, Rabie said that the Red Sea crisis did not create a sustainable alternative route to the canal and that there were positive indicators for the return of stability in the region, Reuters reported.

Iran-backed Houthi militants have attacked vessels in the Red Sea area since November 2023, disrupting global shipping by forcing vessels to avoid the nearby Suez Canal and reroute trade around Africa, raising shipping costs.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said in December the disruption cost Egypt around $7 billion in less revenue from the Suez Canal in 2024.
