The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center’s (KSrelief) Masam Project cleared 1,103 explosive devices from various regions across Yemen during the second week of September. The cleared ordnance included 4 anti-personnel mines, 51 anti-tank mines, 1,047 unexploded munitions, and 1 improvised explosive device (IED), the Saudi Press Agency reported on Saturday.
These efforts bring the total number of explosives cleared since the launch of the Masam Project to 514,193. These devices, which were indiscriminately planted across Yemeni territory, have posed a grave threat to innocent civilians, including children, women, and the elderly, while instilling fear and insecurity in communities that were once considered safe.
Saudi Arabia, through the KSrelief, continues its mission to rid the Yemeni land of explosives as part of its broader effort to protect civilians and enable the Yemeni people to live safely and with dignity.
