Saudi Arabia’s King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) participated in Dubai Design Week from November 4 to 9. The participation aligns with Ithra's mission to boost the role of design in culture, particularly ahead of the eighth edition of its "Tanween" event launching in Dhahran on Monday.
At its pavilion, Ithra showcased an installation featuring sustainable design principles and incorporating lavender, creating an interactive space that reflects shared visual memories of Saudi Arabia and Spain. After its display in Dubai, the artwork will move to Dhahran for the Tanween event, reported the Saudi Press Agency on Sunday.
Ithra also participated in discussions on the role of design in creative industries and organized a meeting for leaders to review this year's Tanween program.
The Tanween initiative focuses on design, integrating creativity through workshops and exhibitions that highlight graduate work. It includes challenge activities, which offer innovative solutions, and a dedicated event that gathers designers to discuss design's impact on culture and daily life.
The participation underscores Ithra's commitment to fostering positive impact and promoting designers in regional and international arenas, contributing to a robust design ecosystem within and beyond the Kingdom.
