A Russian drone killed two people in a home in eastern Ukraine overnight in an area where Moscow's forces are pushing to capture more territory, local authorities said Friday.

The emergency services said the house was completely destroyed in the village of Pidserednie, in the northeast Kharkiv region.

They posted images of firefighters dousing flames billowing from the burning structure, reported AFP.

Rescue workers had retrieved the bodies of a man and a woman from under the rubble and one more person was wounded, they said.

Russian forces have been pushing to retake the nearby town of Kupiansk, which Moscow captured in 2022 but was later retaken by Ukrainian troops.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, addressing US strikes in Iran on Saturday, said it was important that Washington act decisively, but also that hostilities did not escalate into a wider war.

"Whenever there is American resolve, global criminals weaken,"Zelenskiy, who has previously called for the Iranian government to be overthrown, wrote on social media.

"This understanding must also come to the Russians," he added.

"It is fair to give the Iranian people a chance to rid themselves of a terrorist regime and to guarantee security for all nations that have suffered from terror originating in Iran," Zelenskiy wrote, adding that it was important to preserve lives where possible.

"It is important to prevent the war from expanding. It is important that the United States is acting decisively."

Türkiye on Saturday called on "all parties" to end the spiral of violence initiated with US-Israeli strikes on Iran, and broadened with Tehran's retaliation against Gulf states and Israel.

"The events that began with Israel and the US attacking Iran, and continued with Iran targeting third countries, are of a nature that risks the future of our region and global stability," a foreign ministry statement said, urging "all parties to cease hostilities immediately".

For its part, India also called for diplomacy to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East on Saturday.

"We urge all sides to exercise restraint, avoid escalation, and prioritize the safety of civilians," the foreign ministry said in a statement, a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned from a visit to Israel.

"Dialogue and diplomacy should be pursued... Sovereignty and territorial integrity of all states must be respected," it added.

US President Donald Trump has no plans to address the American people Saturday after the United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran, the White House said.

A White House official denied reports of a planned address by Trump, who overnight posted a video to his Truth Social platform announcing the attacks and calling for regime change in Tehran, AFP reported.

"This reporting was inaccurate, the White House has not given any guidance on an address or remarks today," the official told reporters.
